Jacquemus Reworks Ronaldinho’s Tiempo R10 for France in Nike’s Cryoshot Line

Of the seven collaborations in Nike’s X2 World Cup project, the Jacquemus entry for France might be the most elegant. The French fashion house took the Tiempo R10, Ronaldinho’s signature boot from 2005, and reworked it as a Cryoshot.

The Cryoshot process is the heart of the project. Nike took historic boots from its archive and used injection molding to seal the original stud cluster inside a clear TPU outsole, preserving the boot’s exact geometry while making it wearable on the street. The studs are still there, locked in transparent material underneath the foot.

For the France drop, Jacquemus kept it clean: a predominantly white upper with the French tricolor encased in the studs underneath the sole, and Jacquemus branding on the fold-over tongue and heel. It is a quiet, design-forward take that fits the label’s minimalist reputation, and it turns one of the most beloved boots in football history into something you can wear off the pitch.

The Tiempo R10 carries real weight. Ronaldinho at his peak in the mid-2000s was the most joyful player in the world, and the R10 line was built around him. Reissuing it through a fashion house, for the country that has become one of football’s dominant powers, is a sharp piece of archive storytelling.

France arrive as one of the tournament favorites, which means the Jacquemus boot will get plenty of screen time by association.
