Trophy Room Closes After 10 Years, Unreleased Air Jordan 6 Pack Surfaces

Trophy Room, the Orlando sneaker retailer founded by Marcus Jordan, has closed its brick-and-mortar location after a decade in operation. The store, which opened May 23, 2016, in Disney Springs, will transition to an online-only format under a new brand direction while Marcus retains the Trophy Room trademark and intellectual property.

Marcus announced the closure on Instagram, stating he was stepping away to focus on new opportunities that better align with his current professional and personal goals. The decision came just weeks after the store’s ten-year anniversary.

Trophy Room was more than a standard sneaker shop. Designed to recreate the Jordan family trophy room from Marcus’s childhood, it housed family photos, home videos, and game-worn gear from Michael Jordan himself. The retail space became a cultural hub for Air Jordan enthusiasts and a reliable source for limited collaborations with Jordan Brand.

Over its decade-long run, Trophy Room released multiple Air Jordan collaborations, including custom takes on the Air Jordan 23, 17, 7, 5, and 1. Many releases commemorated historic moments from Michael Jordan’s career or reimagined signature colorways with new design elements. The 2021 Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 High remixed the classic Chicago color scheme with a glittery finish, though that release became notable for alleged backdooring controversies that dogged the store’s later years.

With the closure announcement, Marcus shared photos of an unreleased Trophy Room x Air Jordan 6 pack originally scheduled for 2025. The collection featured two Air Jordan 6 colorways, both equipped with light-responsive, color-changing uppers. Both pairs appear white at first glance with black and Infrared accents, but shift to either baby blue or light pink when exposed to light.

The Air Jordan 6, originally released in 1991, remains one of the model’s most celebrated silhouettes in the Jordan Brand lineup. It marked Michael Jordan’s first championship season and has seen countless reissues and collaborations since its debut. Light-responsive technology on sneaker uppers represents a niche but growing trend in performance and lifestyle footwear, adding dynamic visual appeal to classic designs.

Details about Trophy Room’s transition to the new online-only brand remain limited. Marcus indicated more information would follow, but the company has not announced specific timelines, product offerings, or release schedules for the rebranded venture.
