adidas 3D-Printed CLIMACOOL Gets an Early World Cup Look Before Its July 2 Launch

adidas 3D-Printed CLIMACOOL Gets an Early World Cup Look Before Its July 2 Launch

adidas gave the sneaker world an early look at its next 3D-printed shoe over the weekend, and it landed on some of the most-watched feet at the World Cup.

Paul Pogba, Marcelo Vieira, Rodrygo Goes, Éder Militão, Trinity Rodman, Cade Cowell, and Cavan Sullivan were all spotted in an unreleased adidas CLIMACOOL during the brand’s Home of Soccer celebration at Brooklyn Bridge Park. The colorway, a mix of Solar Turbo and off-white, is the newest evolution of adidas’ 3D-printed footwear platform, and it launches Thursday, July 2.

What sets the CLIMACOOL apart from a normal release is how it is made. The shoe uses adidas’ additive manufacturing process, printing the entire structure as a single lattice instead of cutting and stitching traditional materials. The result is a one-piece, slip-on silhouette built to be lightweight and breathable, with no separate upper, midsole, or laces in the usual sense. It looks like a concept and wears like a sneaker.

adidas has been building toward this for years, and the 2026 push is the most aggressive yet. The brand says more CLIMACOOL colorways and updated silhouettes will arrive through the rest of the year, moving what began as a performance experiment toward an everyday lifestyle shoe.

The timing is deliberate. Putting the shoe on a roster of athletes during a home World Cup, in front of the largest and most sneaker-aware American audience the sport has ever drawn, is the exact crossover play brands are chasing this summer. Football boots and lifestyle sneakers keep blurring together, and a 3D-printed slip-on worn by Pogba and Trinity Rodman on the same weekend sits right in the middle of it.

The sighting happened during adidas’ Home of Soccer event, which pulled thousands to Brooklyn for watch parties, 3v3 competition, live radio sets, and performances from PinkPantheress and Larry June.

The adidas CLIMACOOL in Solar Turbo and off-white releases Thursday, July 2. Pricing and the full launch lineup have not been confirmed.
