adidas Adistar Jellyfish by Pharrell “Triple White”: Up Close With the Year’s Most Detailed Sneaker

adidas Adistar Jellyfish Pharrell Williams White, photographed by Nick Engvall

adidas sent over the VIRGINIA Adistar Jellyfish by Pharrell in White, the colorway they are also calling Triple White, and I have not been able to put it down. In a photo it reads as a clean white chunky runner, the kind of thing that is easy to scroll past. In hand it is something else entirely.

I have spent the last week taking hundreds of photos of this pair, most of them macro, chasing the layers and the glow and the reflective hits you would never notice in daylight. It is the first shoe in a long time that made me want to lose a whole day behind the camera. Fine art in the form of a sneaker is not a phrase I throw around, but it fits here.

The details are the whole point. It is the old Adistar runner rebuilt into something sculptural, an upper stacked in layers meant to move like the body of a jellyfish, all translucence and texture that only makes sense up close. From a distance it is just a shape in the water. Up close is where it gets fascinating. I live in Monterey with the aquarium down the road, so that comparison lands for me.

Release details

The adidas VIRGINIA Adistar Jellyfish by Pharrell in White (Triple White) released August 1, 2026 with a retail price of $300. The style code is KH6730.

I wrote about this one at more length over at The Sneaker Newsletter. If you get the chance, go find a pair you can actually touch. This is one of the rare ones that is worth it.
