Air Jordan 12 Retro “Idols Become Rivals” Release Date, Price, and Where to Buy

Air Jordan 12 Retro Idols Become Rivals, style code CT8013-103

Jordan Brand is pointing the Air Jordan 12 Retro toward Milwaukee this fall with the “Idols Become Rivals” colorway, a Bucks-themed build in Summit White, Gorge Green, Black and Fierce Purple.

The 12 has always been the most structurally serious shoe in the line. Tinker Hatfield designed it in 1996 with a full-length Zoom Air unit and a stitched radiating side panel drawn from a Japanese rising sun flag, and it carried Michael Jordan through the 1997 Finals game that everyone still argues about. It is also a model with a real Milwaukee footnote, because Ray Allen spent the early part of his career there as a Jordan Brand athlete and the 12 became permanently attached to him in the process.

This pair leans into that history rather than announcing it. Green reptile print covers the protective panels on the lateral sides, plush white leather handles the rest of the upper, and black stitching adds texture between the two. Bucks purple lands on the tongue and heel branding, with metallic blue on the top two lace loops and on the Jordan mark across the midfoot stabilizer.

To me this signals that Jordan Brand is comfortable letting the 12 carry stories that are not strictly Michael’s. Team-based storytelling has been creeping into the retro calendar for a few years now, and the 12 keeps getting picked for it. That is a smart use of a model that already sells on construction alone. The buyer here is the collector who wants a reason attached to the shoe, not just a colorway.

Release details: $215, September 12, 2026, style code CT8013-103.

Where to buy: Nike SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers.
