ASICS is releasing the GEL-NYC 2.0, the next iteration of its contemporary running sneaker that blends archival design with current performance innovation. The shoe draws from two key moments in ASICS history: the upper borrows from the GEL-1050, released in 2000, while the newly designed tooling also nods to that same model along with outsole influences from the GEL-LYTE DS II. Modern suede overlays update the heritage aesthetic for a current look.
The midsole represents a meaningful upgrade from the original GEL-NYC. ASICS combined TRUSSTIC support units, GEL technology inserts, and FF BLAST PLUS cushioning to create a lighter, more comfortable platform than its predecessor. This approach maintains performance credentials while delivering the comfort expected from a lifestyle-focused sneaker.

The Umeboshi and Moonrock colorway pairs a deep reddish-burgundy tone with a neutral moonrock gray, creating contrast across the suede overlays and base upper. This drop arrives as a limited release with a one-per-customer limit, meaning once your order is placed, no refunds, returns, or cancellations are accepted.
The GEL-NYC 2.0 is available now at ASICS.
