New Balance 1890 ‘Faded Black/Utility Green’

New Balance‘s new retro-futuristic 1890 silhouette graduated from collaboration-only status to its first in-line release in March 2026, following its high-profile debut through an Action Bronson partnership the previous year. The Faded Black and Utility Green colorway grounded the model’s bold design in utilitarian tones.

The 1890’s Abzorb heel cushioning, chunky midsole proportions, and distinctive upper geometry positioned it as New Balance‘s answer to the retro-futurist aesthetic that had been driving the market. The transition to general retail expanded the 1890’s audience considerably.

The New Balance 1890 Faded Black/Utility Green retailed at $180 and released March 12, 2026 through New Balance and select footwear retailers.
