Jurassic Park x Nike Ja 3 Raptor Is Still at Retail Five Months After It Dropped

The Jurassic Park x Nike Ja 3 Raptor released April 10 at $135 under style code IU7240-001. Five months later Nike still lists it at full price with sizes available, and both of the pairs that launched that day trade below retail on StockX. This post used to say the shoes moved quickly on release day. They did not, and the record is clear enough that the correction is the more useful thing to publish.

The Ja 3 arrived August 5, 2025 at $125 as Ja Morant’s third signature shoe. Nike calls it the first Nike Basketball performance shoe built on layered full-length hybrid ZoomX, which is the technical claim worth carrying, and lists it at about 13.4 ounces in a men’s size 9 with roughly a 6mm drop. Traction comes from a zoned pattern made of repeating mini Ja logos. Designer Ben Nethongkome’s line on the project was that they wanted Morant to feel like an artist rather than only an athlete, and the angled JA logo came from Morant spray-painting the Swoosh and the letters himself during a session on Nike’s campus. The pricing of the line has moved in one direction with a single exception. The Ja 1 launched in spring 2023 at $110, the Ja 2 followed September 26, 2024 at $130, and the Ja 3 came in five dollars cheaper than the shoe before it at $125. The Jurassic Park pairs carried a $10 premium over that.

There were three colorways in this pack, not two, which is the second correction this post needs. Raptor is IU7240-001 and Explorer is IU7240-300, both $135 on April 10, and a third pair under IU7240-002 followed May 7 at $145. Sneaker Bar Detroit has published that third pair under two different names, Metallic Silver and Cloud Island, so it is named here by its code rather than a nickname. The Raptor takes the velociraptors, running a golden-yellow to dark-grey fade across jagged overlays with a red Swoosh on the lateral side over a blacked-out ZoomX midsole. The Explorer takes the Ford Explorer tour rig from the film, a green to yellow gradient over a red base layer that reads like claw marks, with a black Swoosh. Both share mismatched tongues pairing Morant branding with the Jurassic Park logo, dinosaur graphics on the insoles, dedicated packaging, and a keychain with Morant’s logo set inside faux amber, a direct nod to the mosquito that drives the film’s cloning plot.

The pack is not an anniversary and not a movie tie-in, which is how a lot of the coverage framed it. Jurassic Park opened in US theaters June 11, 1993, so April 2026 was its thirty-third year and not a milestone, and Jurassic World Rebirth had already opened nine months earlier on July 2, 2025. Nike’s own copy gives the real reason, that the collaboration takes its cues from one of Morant’s favorite nineties movies. What surrounded the release is the harder context. Morant was ruled out for the season with an elbow injury on March 24, seventeen days before the pack launched, after twenty games in 2025-26. Memphis traded him to Portland on June 30 for Jerami Grant, Kris Murray and cash. Nike has continued the line regardless, with the Ja 4 arriving August 13, 2026 on a Cushlon 3.0 midsole, which also means the Ja 3 is no longer the current model in the line.

At $135 the Jurassic Park pairs sat $10 above the standard Ja 3, and the May follow-up went another $10 higher at $145. Neither has held that. StockX has the Raptor at a three-month average of $113 against a $135 retail, roughly 16 percent under, across 660 sales, and the Explorer at $112 across 776 sales. The Raptor’s last recorded sale of $172 sits so far above its own average that it reads as one outlier size rather than a market. A week after release, Sports Illustrated reported the pack was still available at or below retail across Nike, Foot Locker, Champs, JD and Hibbett, which is the sourced version of what this post previously asserted the opposite of.

The Jurassic Park x Nike Ja 3 Raptor released April 10 at $135 under IU7240-001, with the Explorer the same day under IU7240-300 and a third pair on May 7 at $145 under IU7240-002.
