New Balance unveiled the 1890, a fresh silhouette that marries moccasin construction with runner DNA. Spotted in a butter yellow leather with snakeskin accents, the shoe blends Wallabee-style moccasin proportions, including traditional two-piece construction, with paneling and sole units borrowed from New Balance’s running heritage, specifically design elements from the 1906.
The 1890 carries extra overlays across the tongue, toe, and heel areas, creating layered detailing typical of classic moccasin builds while maintaining New Balance’s signature technical approach. New Balance shared early looks at the model during Paris Fashion Week through senior marketing manager Lee Stuart, signaling the brand’s continued push into lifestyle and heritage footwear territory alongside its running roots.
atmos Tokyo teased the arrival of this snakeskin version on June 15, 2026, without confirming an exact release date. The pale yellow colorway could land as an atmos-exclusive, though details remain sparse. The teaser also hints that three additional 1890A moccasin pairs are in the pipeline, suggesting New Balance plans to build out this model across multiple colorways.

New Balance has not announced official pricing or a locked release date. Based on current information, the 1890 is expected to arrive in Spring 2026 through New Balance and select retailers.
