Nike is preparing a new pack for Spring 2027 that applies subtle reworks to three of its most recognizable Air Max silhouettes. The Air Max 1, Air Max 90, and Air Max 95 are all part of what is being called an Air Max Reimagined pack, with each shoe receiving a lightly updated version of its original colorway rather than a straight retro. Early images of the pack surfaced after the styles were spotted at Nike‘s Paris Fashion Week showroom.
Nike has been one of the most influential names in sneaker history since the late 1970s, building much of its cultural weight on performance running and basketball designs that have since become wardrobe staples far beyond the track or court. The Air Max family sits at the center of that legacy. When designer Tinker Hatfield introduced visible Air cushioning in the late 1980s, it changed what a running shoe could look like, and the silhouettes from that era have remained in steady rotation ever since.
The Air Max 1 was the first shoe to put the Air unit on display, debuting in 1987 and establishing the visual language that the entire line would follow. The Air Max 90 arrived a few years later and became one of Nike’s best-selling silhouettes of all time, recognized instantly by its paneled upper and chunky midsole. The Air Max 95 pushed the design further with its gradient layering and spine-inspired structure, a look that still turns heads decades after its original run.
For this pack, each shoe gets a version of one of its most well-known colorways with deliberate modifications. The Air Max 1 appears in a University Red build with added blue accents on the outsoles and eyelets, plus an opaque white Air bubble at the heel. The Air Max 95 takes the fan-favorite Neon colorway and folds in a few orange accents. The Air Max 90 goes a different direction, arriving in its Infrared colorway with a scuffed finish on the heel’s TPU piece and an aged, yellowed mesh base that gives the shoe a worn-in look from the start.
The concept draws a clear line to Jordan Brand’s Reimagined series, which launched in 2023 with updated versions of several classic Jordan silhouettes that introduced new materials and small but meaningful changes to beloved original colorways. Nike is applying that same thinking here to its running-rooted Air Max lineup.
The Nike Air Max Reimagined pack does not have a confirmed release date beyond a Spring 2027 window. Pricing is set at $170 for the Air Max 1 (style code JA7122-100), $160 for the Air Max 90 (style code IZ1632-100), and $200 for the Air Max 95 (style code IX5142-001). The pack is expected to release through Nike and additional retailers, though specific stockists have not been confirmed.
