Reebok Engine A Pump Release Date, Price, and Where to Buy

Reebok Engine A Pump, style code 100277685

Reebok leans on its most recognizable technology again with the Engine A Pump, putting the brand’s signature inflation system on a newer, more current silhouette.

The Pump landed in 1989 and became one of the few genuinely original ideas in sneaker history, a shoe you inflated with a button on the tongue for a custom fit. It powered some of Reebok‘s biggest moments, from Dee Brown’s no-look dunk at the 1991 Slam Dunk Contest to a long run of basketball and running models that leaned on the tech. Decades later it is still the first thing a lot of people picture when they hear the Reebok name.

Reaching for the Pump on a newer shape says something about where Reebok is trying to go. To me this shows a brand working to build forward from its heritage rather than just reissue it. That is the balance Reebok has to strike. The archive is deep and beloved, but leaning only on retros has a ceiling. Putting the Pump on something that looks modern is how the brand stays relevant to people who did not grow up with it, and the Engine A is a clear attempt at exactly that.

The Reebok Engine A Pump releases July 31, 2026 with a retail price of $160. The style code is 100277685, and it will be available at Reebok and select retailers.
