Kith and Salomon do not do one-off collaborations, they build platforms, and the XT-EVO is the clearest proof yet. Unveiled as part of Kith’s &Kin Fall 2026 collection and teased for weeks by Ronnie Fieg, the XT-EVO is not a remix of an existing Salomon shoe. It is an all-new silhouette, launching first through Kith in two colorways, a grey and a black.
The build is a hybrid. Salomon took the sole unit from the XT-6, the trail runner that did more than any other shoe to pull the brand into the sneaker conversation, and paired it with a completely redesigned upper. The headline is the protective TPU shell that wraps around the lower half of the foot, all sharp molded lines with a diamond-patterned texture underneath. It reads as function first, the kind of armor you would want on a technical shoe, styled for the sidewalk.
What makes this interesting is the direction. Salomon has spent the last few years living off the XT-6 and a handful of archive models. Building a genuinely new silhouette, and doing it with Kith rather than in-house, is a sign the brand wants to keep expanding its lifestyle footprint instead of retreading the same shoe. For Kith, it is another example of Fieg getting first access to something that did not exist before, which is the whole value of these deeper partnerships.
