The Air Force 1 has been Nike‘s canvas for outside voices since the early 1980s, and the ’01 build nods to the low-top’s turn-of-the-century run, when the model went from basketball staple to a cornerstone of everyday sneaker culture. Victor Victor, the label from music executive Steven Victor, is the latest partner to put its stamp on it.
Pairing a music-industry name with the Air Force 1 keeps Nike close to the cultural corners that pushed the shoe in the first place, and University Red is one of the safest, most requested AF1 color stories there is. The choice signals a collaboration built for broad appeal rather than a niche design experiment, meant to move with both collectors watching the Victor Victor connection and casual buyers who just want a clean red AF1.
