New Balance is opening Teddy Santis’ Made in USA Fall/Winter 2026 collection with an earthy yellow 993 called Morel.

The 993 arrived as the successor to the 991 and has quietly become the most trusted shoe in the New Balance Made in USA lineup. It filled American office parks for a decade before anyone called it a dad shoe, and it is the pair Santis leaned on after taking over as creative director of Made in USA in 2021. The 993 does not need a redesign. It needs good material choices.
This one gets them. The upper is done in hairy suede, in a mushroom-toned yellow New Balance is calling Morel, with Timberwolf and black filling out the rest. It is a quiet shoe in an unusual color, which is roughly the formula Santis has used from the start.
This proves the Made in USA line is still the strongest argument New Balance has. While the 550 and the 9060 chase trend cycles, the domestic factories keep turning out 990s, 992s, and 993s that hold their value and their reputation. The Morel 993 leads a seven-part Fall/Winter rollout that also includes the 990v4, the 992, and the 1300, and starting the season with the 993 says something about which model New Balance thinks carries the most weight right now.
