Jack Harlow’s next New Balance collaboration puts the T500 in brown leather and names it after a landscape architect.

Harlow has been working with New Balance for several years, running through the 1906R, the 550, and the 442v2 Pro Indoor. The Louisville rapper is one of the few music collaborators the brand has kept around across multiple seasons, which says something about how the partnership performs.
The T500 is the low-profile walking shoe New Balance pulled out of its archive, and it has become the brand’s answer to the dressier end of the sneaker market. This version is monochrome brown from outsole to laces, done in soft leather. The name comes from Frederick Law Olmsted, the landscape architect behind Central Park in Manhattan, Prospect Park in Brooklyn, and Cherokee Park in Harlow’s hometown of Louisville.
That signals where the whole category is heading. The walking shoe, the low-profile silhouette, the brown leather finish, these are all signs the market has moved past the chunky running retro and toward something you can wear with pants that are not jeans. New Balance getting there with an existing archive model instead of an all-new design is the efficient version of that move. Harlow’s debut commercial for the colorway leans into it, showing him walking through Manhattan and ending up on a bench in Central Park.
