Nike is bringing the Zoom Hyperflight back for fall in a Varsity Red, white and black colorway, and it remains one of the stranger silhouettes in the retro rotation.

The Hyperflight arrived in 2003 as a basketball shoe built around a molded one-piece upper and Zoom Air cushioning. It looked like nothing else on the floor at the time, and that is exactly why it kept a following long after its on-court life ended.
This version keeps the shape intact, running red across the upper with white on the cage and a black outsole.
This shows Nike is still working through its early-2000s archive instead of leaning entirely on the Air Force 1 and the Dunk. The Hyperflight has a smaller built-in audience than either of those, which makes it a lower-risk way to test whether the 2003 design language has room to grow again. Other Hyperflight colorways have already surfaced in this cycle, so Varsity Red is a follow-up rather than an opening move.
Who it is for: people who remember the shoe from its original run, and anyone building a rotation around silhouettes that do not show up on every block.
Release details: The Nike Zoom Hyperflight “Varsity Red” releases September 1, 2026 for $170 under style code IR0962-601, in a Varsity Red/White-Black colorway.
Where to buy: Nike.com and the Nike SNKRS app, plus select Nike retailers.
