Nike is opening the football season with an Air Max 90 in Green Bay Packers colors, a Vintage Green, University Gold, Black and Alabaster build landing September 1.

The Air Max 90 arrived as the Air Max III in 1990, designed by Tinker Hatfield with a larger visible Air unit and the layered mudguard panels that made the window easier to read from across a room. It has spent the thirty-plus years since as Nike‘s most adaptable lifestyle runner, which is exactly why it keeps getting handed licensed team programs. The panel structure gives a designer four or five separate places to drop a team color without the shoe looking like a costume.
That is the case here. Vintage Green covers the base with University Gold on the mudguard hits and Swoosh, black grounding the midsole and heel, and Alabaster keeping the whole thing from reading too heavy. It looks closer to a throwback jersey than a current uniform, which is the right call for a fanbase that treats its history as the product.
This shows Nike is treating NFL licensing as a volume lane rather than a hype lane. Team packs like this get built across a dozen or more clubs, priced at general release, and sold into regional markets where the demand is already sitting there. That is a different business than a SNKRS drop, and Green Bay is about as safe a bet as the category has.
