Crocs Classic Clog EXP Adds Vibram Grip and Heritage Details

Crocs Classic Clog

Crocs is releasing the Classic Clog EXP in white, black, and koi colorways, and this version of the brand’s most recognizable silhouette comes with meaningful upgrades underneath a familiar exterior.

Crocs launched in 2002 with a single product built around a foam resin material the brand calls Croslite. That first shoe, the Beach, was designed around comfort and function rather than style, and it found its earliest audience among people who spent long hours on their feet. Chefs, nurses, and outdoor workers adopted it before it ever became a mainstream conversation. Over the following two decades, the Classic Clog became one of the most recognized shoe silhouettes in the world, showing up in professional kitchens, at music festivals, and eventually on runways and red carpets. The shape never changed in any meaningful way, which is part of what made it so durable as a cultural object.

The Classic Clog sits at the center of everything Crocs makes. The one-piece Croslite upper, the pivoting heel strap, and the 13-hole Jibbitz array for charm customization have stayed consistent across generations of the shoe. Colorways rotate constantly, but the structure remains fixed. The EXP version does not disturb any of that. What it adds is a Super Critical Foam midsole for reduced weight and improved underfoot comfort, and a Vibram outsole, which marks the first collaboration between Vibram and Crocs. The Vibram branding appears on the lateral heel. Vibram is a sole company with a long history of supplying high-traction rubber outsoles to outdoor footwear and performance brands, and its addition here gives the Classic Clog a grip profile it has never had before.

Across the upper runs a dot pattern pulled directly from the Beach, the original Classic Clog. That hand-hammered texture is a quiet design callback that most wearers will not immediately register, which appears to be intentional. The heritage reference is built in for those who know it and invisible to those who do not.

The Crocs Classic Clog EXP in white, black, and koi is available now in unisex sizing. No price or retailer information was listed in the announcement, so check Crocs directly for current availability. If this one has you looking at more from the brand, the Classic Clog lineup has plenty of other colorways worth exploring.
