New Balance has a Fall 2026 colorway of the Abzorb 2000S coming in Fennel Seed and Pistachio Butter, a muted green pairing that reads closer to a kitchen shelf than a running shoe.
The Abzorb name goes back to the cushioning compound New Balance introduced in the 1990s, and the brand has spent the last couple of years building a modern line around it. The Abzorb 2000 arrived in 2025 as a retro-futurist take on that era, with a sculpted midsole and a technical upper that reads more like a concept sketch than a reissue. The 2000S follows the same logic.
The color is where this one earns attention. Fennel Seed and Pistachio Butter belong to the same muted, food-named palette New Balance has been running across its lifestyle range for a few seasons, and it works here because the silhouette is busy enough that a loud colorway would fight it.
This shows how far New Balance has pushed its own naming language. Ten years ago a green sneaker was a green sneaker. Now the color name is doing part of the selling, and the brand has enough credibility with its audience that it can put a spice on the box label and have people understand exactly which shade they are getting before they see a photo.
