Nike Air Foamposite Pro Green Camo Returns With the Camo Screen-Printed On

The Air Foamposite Pro in Green Camo returns September 18 at $250, and the detail worth knowing before you decide is how the camo gets onto the shoe. Nike‘s release copy says a screen-printed pattern brings back the retro colorway. Foamposite is a molded shell rather than a cut-and-sew upper, so any graphic on it has to be printed onto a curved surface instead of woven into a material. That constraint is the entire reason this colorway looks the way it does.

The Foamposite arrived in 1997 as a manufacturing idea more than a design. Nike poured liquid urethane into a mold and pulled out an upper with no panels, no seams and almost no stitching. Complex’s history of the line quotes designer Eric Avar saying there was no brief and that the project was pure experimentation. The Air Foamposite One released that year at $180, a number no basketball shoe had asked for before, and Penny Hardaway carried it into the league. The Pro followed in the fall of 1997, per Highsnobiety’s account of the line, with a jeweled Swoosh on the side and none of Hardaway’s 1Cent branding on it. That absence is why the Pro has always been the more adaptable of the two. With no signature logo attached, the Pro belongs to whoever puts it on, and Nike has treated it as open canvas ever since, which is how a 1997 basketball shoe ended up wearing woodland camo. Green Camo is a 2013 colorway and the 2026 version is doing what the original did. The shell carries a woodland pattern in forest green, olive and tan, printed over the molded surface so the camo stretches and warps where the shell curves, an effect no flat material reproduces. Volt runs underneath as the accent, on the lace tips, along the midsole, on the heel pull tab, and on the insole graphic that is only visible from directly above. The jeweled Swoosh is chrome and sits proud of the print. The outsole is a mid-brown traction pattern rather than black, which is the choice that ties the whole shoe to the tan in the camo. A volt hangtag comes in the box. Nike is also running the colorway down through kids’ sizing as the Little Posite Pro Camo, at $185 for big kids, $102 for little kids and $77 for toddlers, which is a broader family rollout than a $250 retro normally gets.

Foamposite retros have been quiet for a while, and the ones that move are the ones with a graphic behind them rather than a team color. Green Camo qualifies on that test. It was one of the loudest Foamposite colorways of the early 2010s, it landed in the middle of the stretch when Foamposites still caused lines outside stores, and it has not been back since. Bringing it in with full kids’ sizing attached says Nike is planning for family buying rather than a resale spike, which is a different read on the Foamposite audience than the brand worked from in 2013. The people who wanted this shoe then are old enough to be buying a second pair for someone else now, and Nike has built the size run to catch that. It also quietly lowers the stakes on the $250. A shoe sold in four size tiers is a shoe meant to sell through, not to sell out.

$250 is the standing rate for a Foamposite Pro retro, and it sits $70 above the $180 the Foamposite One asked in 1997, which was already the most expensive basketball shoe most people had seen at retail. Complex puts the original Pro at $170, which makes the gap $80 across twenty-nine years. Measured against what retro pricing has done elsewhere in that time, that is mild, and it is the same $250 Nike has been asking for premium Foamposite makeups for years. The 2013 Green Camo’s original retail could not be confirmed against a primary source, so this post does not state one.

The Nike Air Foamposite Pro in Black and Multi-Color, the Green Camo, releases September 18 with Nike’s launch page listing a 7:00 AM start, style IM5204-001, at $250. It goes up on SNKRS and nike.com. The Little Posite Pro Camo releases the same morning at $185 in big kids’, $102 in little kids’ and $77 in toddler sizing, which makes this one of the few Foamposite drops a whole household can get into.
