The Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro Atomic Pink brings back one of Kobe Bryant’s early signatures in a bold, monochromatic pink treatment.

The original Kobe 3 landed in 2007, during a stretch when Nike was still figuring out what a Kobe signature should look like. It was a rounder, more sculpted shoe than the low-cut models that would define the line a few years later, with a distinctive netted side panel that set it apart from anything else on court at the time. The Protro program, which Nike introduced in 2018, exists to retune those older designs with modern cushioning and support while keeping the shape fans remember.
This Atomic Pink pair goes all in on a single color. The pale pink covers the upper from toe to heel, running across the netted panels, tongue, laces, and outsole, with Bright Crimson filling in the accents.
To me that proves how much room the Protro line still has to play. Older signatures like the Kobe 3 are less locked into expectations than the Kobe 4 or 6, so a loud, tonal makeup like this feels like an experiment rather than a betrayal of a beloved original. It is also a reminder that the Kobe catalog runs deeper than its most famous chapters.
