Nike Has Called Three Different Sabrina 4s Light Work Since July, and This Is the Second in White

The Sabrina 4 arriving November 6 is white with grey panels, and Nike‘s own catalogue calls it the Light Work. So did the red pair that came out in October. So did the white pair that landed in July, which started life under a different name altogether. Three style codes, one name, four months, and the one job the name no longer does is tell you which shoe anybody means.

Ionescu’s fourth signature shoe is the one where Nike stopped treating the line as a question it had to keep answering. This site covered what that shift looks like commercially when the Superstition landed in September. Underfoot, the Sabrina 4 reads like this: a forefoot Air Zoom unit sitting over full-length Cushlon 3.0, and a TPU plate Nike calls a Flyplate, lifted out of its running and track lines and reshaped for a court. The plate runs beneath the forefoot Air unit, carries back through the arch and climbs the sidewall, which means it is doing as much stability work as propulsion. Nike frames the whole idea through Ionescu’s alma mater and its track programme, a tidy piece of storytelling given that Oregon track is also where Nike came from. The company has been putting plates in racing shoes for years, and the Alphafly is where that technology actually lives. Moving it to basketball means asking a component designed to send a runner in one direction to survive a game played in all of them.

This pair is white, and grey does all the work in it. Raised dashes run across the grey side panels and open into a zigzag toward the heel, where the pattern wraps the back of the shoe. The toe is smoother, white overlays traced with silver stitching, and the laces sit over a mesh tongue carrying Ionescu’s S logo, which repeats on the insoles. Her signature is molded into the outer heel. The two sides are not the same shoe. The lateral Swoosh runs flat across the textured panel with a grey outline, while the medial one is larger, drops down onto the midsole and angles back toward the collar, and a small Swoosh near the forefoot is easy to miss entirely. What the press frames make clearest is the sole, where Air Zoom, Cushlon and Flyplate are all written along the sidewall in the same white-on-white as everything around them. On a shoe this quiet, the only thing shouting is the technology telling you it is in there. That is a defensible choice on a basketball shoe, where an all-white pair has to survive a season of being looked at under arena lighting, and the texture is what keeps it from flattening into a blank.

Which brings up the name. Light Work began as White Label, a Nike Basketball collection that surfaced first on the Ja 3, and the Sabrina 4’s white July pair, II0402-101, was announced under that banner before Nike changed the product name. The red October pair, II0402-601, then took Light Work. This pair, II0402-102, takes it again, in white, which is roughly where the whole thing started. Sneaker Bar Detroit, which has covered all three, filed them under three separate names and is calling this one the Grey Fog. That is not the outlet’s error. A colorway name is supposed to be the one durable handle on a shoe that gets a fresh style code for every makeup, and Nike has spent four months demonstrating that this one is not. For a line whose entire argument has been that it is the sensible pick in basketball, the bookkeeping is a strange place to come loose. The practical cost lands on anyone trying to buy the right pair, because two of the three are white and the style code is now the only reliable way to tell them apart.

Retail is $135, unchanged across every Sabrina 4 makeup this year and still the figure doing most of the line’s persuading. Nike’s flagship basketball models sit well above it, far enough that the Sabrina has been bought steadily by people with no particular investment in whose signature is on it. For a comparison inside the same Nike Basketball range, the KD19 Aunt Pearl is $170. The Sabrina 4 has not developed a secondary market worth describing, which for a performance shoe priced to be played in is closer to a compliment than a complaint, and it is the reason a third Light Work can arrive without anybody treating it as a scarcity event.

The Nike Sabrina 4 Light Work releases November 6 in White, Grey Fog and Photon Dust. The style code is II0402-102 and retail is $135. Nike’s own release board carries the sixth. Sneaker Bar Detroit’s post, published October 31, lists only November 2026, so treat the date as the brand’s figure rather than a consensus one. It is due at nike.com and select Nike Basketball retailers, with launch pairs listed through the Nike launch calendar.
