On THE ROGER Centre Court Marks Federer’s Hall of Fame Weekend With 20,000 Pairs

On put THE ROGER Centre Court back on sale August 25 in an Ivory and Fern makeup built for one occasion, Roger Federer’s induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The ceremony weekend ran August 27 to 29 in Newport, Rhode Island, which means the shoe reached customers before the man reached the podium. It is capped at 20,000 pairs, sells for $200, and is available only through On.com. The number is the interesting part, and it takes a look back at 2020 to see why.

THE ROGER Centre Court was the first thing On and Federer made together. On announced it July 6, 2020, as a 0-Series, individually numbered and limited to 1,000 pairs, with black stitching, a black Speedboard and a vegan leather upper. At the time On was a running company with no tennis product and no lifestyle business worth naming, and Federer was an active player and an investor in the brand rather than a retiree with a signature line. The shoe was a statement of intent more than a product. Six years later the Centre Court sits in the middle of a full THE ROGER family that runs from the $140 Clubhouse up to the $220 Pro LDN, with the Advantage at $160, the Wildcard at $170 and the Clubhouse Pro 2 at $180 filling the gaps. The Centre Court is the one that reads as a tennis shoe from the era Federer actually played in, cut low and squared off at the toe, with the CloudTec elements hidden under a flat outsole instead of exposed the way On does it on the running side.

The Hall of Fame edition keeps that shape and works in the colors. The upper is white with gold accents and green detailing pulled from outfits Federer wore at Wimbledon, including one now on display at the Hall of Fame in Newport. The heel carries a gold racquet badge, the Hall of Fame’s own mark rather than an On logo. The sockliner is grass colored, and On credits that idea to Federer directly. The box got the same treatment, gold accents on the lid, green edges meant to read as court boundaries, and a printed note from Federer inside. On lists the shoe at 191 grams with a 7 mm drop across sizes 36 to 49, which puts it in line with a standard Centre Court rather than adding weight for the sake of the trim.

The pair count is the story. In 2020 On made 1,000 of these and sold them as a numbered collector item to an audience that mostly did not know On made lifestyle shoes. In 2026 it made 20,000 and put them on its own site with no retail partners and no raffle. That is a twentyfold increase, and it says more about how far the brand has come than any earnings line does. It also says something about how brands handle retired athletes now. Federer stopped playing in 2022 and the signature line has grown every year since, which inverts the usual pattern where a signature line thins out the moment the athlete leaves the tour. On is betting the Federer name carries a lifestyle business on its own, and a Hall of Fame induction is the kind of milestone that only comes around once. The collaborations On has been running on the Cloud side are the other half of that bet.

On THE ROGER Centre Court in Ivory and Fern, the commemorative Hall of Fame colorway limited to 20,000 pairs

At $200 the Hall of Fame edition sits near the top of THE ROGER lifestyle range without topping it. The Clubhouse is $140, the Advantage $160, the Wildcard $170, the Clubhouse Pro 2 $180, and the Pro LDN $220. So the commemorative model costs $30 more than a Wildcard and $20 less than the most expensive shoe in the family, which is a modest premium for a limited run with reworked packaging. On has not built a discount history on the Centre Court, and 20,000 pairs against a global customer base is enough supply to keep resale reasonable and enough scarcity to keep the shoe off sale racks.

THE ROGER Centre Court International Tennis Hall of Fame Edition released August 25 at $200. The men’s style code is 3MG10486046 and the women’s is 3WG10406046, both in Ivory and Fern. On is selling it exclusively through On.com, where the men’s pair is still listed at full price. There is no retailer distribution on this one, so the brand’s own site is the only place to look.
