adidas Originals and Willy Chavarria put a second Megaride on sale October 3, and this one sits on the ground. The Mega Willy Low arrives in Black and in a pale green adidas calls Agave, a low-cut take on the caged build that the Willy Mega Mid introduced the same week. The interesting part is not the cut. It is that this shoe already answers to four names depending on who is describing it, and two of those names belong to adidas.
The Megaride is an adidas running model from the early 2000s, pulled back into the line this year after roughly two decades in the archive. adidas revived it for the cushioning system it takes its name from, a stacked and hollowed midsole the brand has described in its own materials as exaggerated. Chavarria reached it first, with a cream pair that turned into a small sub-line rather than a one-off, and that cream pair is still the reference point for everything since.
The franchise has spread quickly from there. Pokemon borrowed the shape for the Megaride F50 in its adidas capsule this month. Chavarria’s own run has moved from a plain upper to a moulded shell, and it has now split into two cuts sold at two prices. For a silhouette that spent twenty years out of production, the Megaride is carrying an unusual amount of adidas’ 2026 calendar, and most of that work is being done under somebody else’s name.

What the product photography shows is a shoe built in two layers. A moulded shell wraps the upper in a row of elongated hollow cells, each one open through the middle, running from the toe back along the quarter panel. On the Agave pair that shell is silver grey and it sits over a bone mesh and suede base, so the cells read as a set of ribs laid across a body. The midsole and outsole are a translucent pale green, deepest at the heel, with a hollowed arch and a dotted tread. Red turns up twice, at the lace area and as a Trefoil printed on the insole. On foot the shoe reads lower and wider than the mid does, with the midsole flaring past the upper at the heel, and the shell doing the visual work a thick tongue or a padded collar would normally do.
The earlier black low in this line is called Bones, and set next to the Agave pair it is clear the name was a description rather than a nickname. Nothing about the shell changed between the two. What changed is contrast. In black the cells sink into the upper and the shoe reads as one dark mass. In silver over bone they are the first thing anybody sees, which is a different argument about the same construction.

Which brings the naming back around. adidas’ press release calls this the Mega Willy Low. adidas.com sells it as the Chavarria Mega WC Version. The earlier black pair sits on that same store as the Chavarria Megaride Bones. Sneaker feeds have picked up the third name and are running the new release as a Megaride Low called Bones, which is the name of the pair that is already gone.
None of that is fatal to a shoe this distinctive, and it does say something about how adidas is running this partnership. This is a collection adidas has framed around proportion and 90s sportswear, with oversized track pieces and Chavarria’s own cultural references running through the apparel, so the footwear is expected to carry a point of view rather than just a colorway. The mid got the press release, the colorway story and the launch window. The low got a product page carrying a name that reads like an internal file label. For a sub-line adidas has now extended three times in a year, never settling on what to call the product is the kind of small thing that decides whether anyone remembers what to search for in eighteen months.

Retail is $230. That sets the low $50 under the Willy Mega Mid at $280, a wider gap than the difference in cut alone explains, and $10 above the black Bones low adidas listed at $220. Read across all three, the shell has stayed the same while the price has climbed twice, which is roughly how a collaboration turns into a franchise. The only prior low now reads as out of stock on adidas.com, so this cut has no resale record worth quoting yet, and the mid is the pair carrying the premium.
The Mega Willy Low releases October 3, 2026 globally, in Black and in Agave, with signups having opened September 28. adidas lists the Agave pair at $230 under style code LA6162. It goes up through the CONFIRMED app, at adidas.com/willychavarria and on its own product page, and at select retailers worldwide, alongside the Willy Mega Mid and the apparel half of the collection.
