The Nike GT Cut 4 EYBL arrived in Bright Violet on July 7, 2026, and the part worth knowing is not the colorway. It is that a shoe carrying the badge of Nike’s grassroots basketball circuit went to open retail, with a Nike.com product page, a full size run and a published style code, IH0948-500. Gear tied to the Elite Youth Basketball League has a reputation for staying on players’ feet and never reaching a checkout page. This pair never had that problem.
The GT line launched in 2021 as a three-model set, the GT Cut, the GT Run and the GT Jump. Nike spells out the initials in its own voice on two of its pages: the GT stands for Greater Than. The original Cut is credited to Nike Basketball designer Bryant Klug with product manager Nicole Chow, and Nike describes it as built for what it calls the Space Makers, players who create separation to impact the game. The G.T. Hustle line came later and is a different job, so the 2021 launch trio should not be back-filled with it. The fourth Cut arrived in January 2026. Nike athlete Paige Bueckers wore it first, at WNBA All-Star Weekend, before Nike unveiled it formally at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai. She is the only athlete Nike names on its own release page for the model.

Nike’s Colour Shown string for this makeup is Bright Violet/Pink Spell/Pink Spell/New Orchid, and the style code is IH0948-500. The earlier version of this post said no style code had been confirmed, which was wrong on the day it published, because Nike carries the code on its own product page. The record around it is messier than that single fact suggests. Sneaker Bar Detroit runs a second article on a Bright Violet GT Cut 4 under IR7207-500, also at the same price, also dated to summer 2026, and it is unresolved whether that is a typo or a genuine companion makeup. IR7207 does sit next to IR7208-600, the Dylan Harper colorway, so a second Bright Violet pair is plausible. Hibbett lists the shoe under a colorway string Nike never uses, Rush Fuchsia and Metallic Silver. When retailers and outlets disagree with the brand on a colour name, the brand’s string is the one that belongs in the catalog.
The underfoot spec is worth quoting rather than paraphrasing, because this line changes cushioning generation to generation. Nike’s own copy on the GT Cut 4 describes a full-length Air Zoom Strobel, a full-length drop-in ZoomX 3.0 foam midsole, RBR-X foam for stability and a Cushlon carrier. React, which a lot of writing about this line still reaches for, belongs to the first two Cuts and not to this one. The EYBL framing needs the same correction. Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League is its premier spring and summer youth circuit, and by the NBA’s own count more than 230 NBA and WNBA players have come through it. Peach Jam, the championship, runs each July in North Augusta, South Carolina, and the 2025 season fielded 32 teams across four sessions. What the badge is not is a scarcity signal. The KD 18 EYBL, IF2519-001, went to general retail on May 2, 2025, and a GT Cut EYBL in Volt and Crimson, IM2130-700, followed that December.

Retail here is $210, which is a $10 premium over the $200 that Nike charges for a standard GT Cut 4. The line has climbed steadily: the first two Cuts launched at $170, the third at $190, the fourth at $200. That distinction gets lost constantly, and several outlets now print $210 as though it were the model’s price rather than this colorway’s. The more useful number for anyone reading this in the fall is the current one. Nike’s page for IH0948-500 is showing it at 45 percent off, $115.97, which is roughly what a pair of general-release runners costs and well under half of what the shoe asked in July.

The Nike GT Cut 4 EYBL released July 7, 2026 in Bright Violet/Pink Spell/Pink Spell/New Orchid, IH0948-500, at $210 through Nike.com, where it is still listed and currently discounted. Sneaker Bar Detroit reported that the release had originally been expected in May and moved into the summer. That delay is carried by one outlet and is not corroborated anywhere else, so treat it as reported rather than established.
