PUMA opens orders on the Stranger Things LaFrancé RNR on November 6, and the date is the most interesting thing about the shoe before anyone has looked at it. Netflix finished the series last winter. The final episode of season five went up December 31, 2025. This is a licensed collaboration arriving closer to the first anniversary of that ending than to the broadcast it was drawn alongside, and it lands on LaMelo Ball’s lifestyle line rather than on his signature basketball shoe.
LaFrancé is the half of Ball’s PUMA deal that never touches a court. PUMA Hoops launched it in April 2024 and was explicit about where the name came from, which is Ball’s own streetwear label rather than anything to do with basketball. The brief, in PUMA designer Noah Bice’s words at the time, was a skate-inspired chunky upper and cup sole built to match a player who “does everything large.” The first pair shipped that May in a red “Amour” colorway with ultra-wide laces, a zig-zag closure and floating ovals set into the midsole.

Two and a half years on, the line has outgrown that one silhouette. PUMA’s own store returns 75 results for LaFrancé across shoes, kids’ sizing and apparel, and the RNR has become its anchor, a wide pod-covered low with a caged lace panel, carried in four colorways and flagged as a best seller. The brand has already spun off a Trail version, a Camo version and a kids’ makeup called Written in Chrome. That is the stage where a lifestyle model either turns into a franchise or turns into clearance, and the LaFrancé RNR is currently doing a bit of both.
PUMA’s description of the Stranger Things pair runs to two sentences. It promises show-inspired graphics, a trail-ready outsole and a holographic logo badge, then stops. The photographs carry a good deal more than the copy does.
The upper is one pale lavender tone, the Pale Plum of the colorway name, worked across its entire surface in a raised relief that reads as tangled roots rather than as a printed graphic. Peach Frost is the other half of the name and it turns up as the laces, the collar lining and the footbed, a coral that is the only loud thing on the shoe. The outsole is where the license actually lands. Against a deep purple-gray field of round studs, a branching coral shape runs most of the length of the bottom with the PUMA cat worked into the top of it, growing in the same direction as the relief above it. Materials are listed at 75 percent synthetic and 25 percent textile up top, over a full rubber bottom.

Entertainment licensing in footwear usually runs on the broadcast calendar, because the window where a lavender sneaker covered in creeping roots explains itself without help is the window where people are still watching the show. PUMA has missed that window by roughly ten months, and this is not the first time the line has taken a license late. The Fast & Furious LaFrancé RNR LA is still sitting on the site, marked down.
There is a generous reading of the delay. Stranger Things has the kind of merchandise afterlife that can absorb it, and a November date puts the shoe into the holiday run rather than against a premiere it would have had to share with every other licensee. There is a plainer reading too, which is that a product lands when the contract and the factory say it lands, and the cultural moment it was drawn for finished without it. PUMA has been willing to date Ball’s performance releases tightly to the season. This one it let drift.

Retail is $130. The standard LaFrancé RNR is a $125 shoe, and PUMA is currently moving its four colorways between $87.99 and $104.99. The Trail and the Camo, both $125 at full price, are going out at $99.99. The Fast & Furious collaboration launched at the same $130 as this pair and now sells for $99.99. So every LaFrancé on PUMA’s site is discounted except the one that has not released, and its product page carries an Item Excluded from Discounts flag. The brand is betting a license holds a price the line itself has not been holding.
Orders open November 5 at 9 PM PST, which makes it November 6 on the East Coast, at us.puma.com. The style code is 313928, the colorway is Pale Plum-Peach Frost and retail is $130. A Stranger Things MB.06, Ball’s signature basketball shoe in the same collection, goes up the same night at $135. Both are listed as coming soon rather than orderable, and PUMA has not published a wider retailer list for either.
