Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble Woven Multi-Color Rebuilds the Upper as a Lattice

Nike released the Air Max 95 Big Bubble Woven in a multi-color makeup on June 24, 2026 at $190, style code IB3695-100, in a White, Purple Dynasty and Pearl Grey colorway. Two things in the original version of this post were wrong and are worth correcting in the open. The shoe’s actual name includes “Big Bubble,” which is not decoration, and it was not a SNKRS exclusive.

Start with the model. Sergio Lozano designed the Air Max 95 and Nike launched it in 1995 as the first running shoe with visible forefoot Air, which is the technical fact that actually separates it from everything before it. The story everyone repeats after that is the human-anatomy one, layered upper panels as muscle fibre, lace loops as ribs, the midsole as a spine. Nike tells that story in its own retrospectives, so it is not invented. It is also not what Lozano has said he was looking at. In a 2015 interview he described the original inspiration as geological, rain-eroded earth strata of the kind you see in the Grand Canyon, and the anatomy reading came later. Both threads are real and they are not the same thread, and a post that only carries the marketing version is carrying half of it.

“Big Bubble” is the other half of the name and it matters. Since 2020 Nike has used the term for Air Max 95 retros built to the original 1995 midsole and Air unit proportions rather than the slimmed-down tooling the model carried for years in between. So this is not a generic Woven sub-line makeup dropped onto whatever 95 mold was available. It sits inside the corrected-proportion program, which is the version of the shoe long-time buyers spent the 2010s asking Nike for. The reference point is the 1995 original, the black, neon yellow and white pair now generally called the Neon, and Big Bubble exists because the retros that followed it kept shrinking the one element people bought the shoe for.

What the woven upper does is take the 95’s defining idea apart and rebuild it. The stock shoe is a set of graduated panels stacked in tonal steps. This one replaces most of that with interlaced strips of nylon, a checkerboard lattice in neon colours laid over grey gradient suede underneath. The panels are still legible, the gradient is still there, and the construction reading them is completely different. There has been one Air Max 95 Woven before this, the 2019 Volt and Black pair under AQ0764-001, so this is the second time Nike has tried it on this silhouette and the first time on Big Bubble tooling. Nike’s own copy describing the material is not published anywhere we could find, so the description above is ours and not the brand’s.

The read: the woven treatment is the most interesting thing anyone has done to an Air Max 95 in a while precisely because it argues with the shoe instead of recoloring it. The 95’s whole identity is the panel stack, and unpicking it into a weave is a real design position rather than a colorway brief. Whether it works is a separate question, and the market has an opinion on that. The 95 has been retro’d more or less continuously for two decades, and a weave is one of the few moves left that changes what the shoe is rather than what shade it is.

On price, $190 is where Nike puts a specialty-construction Air Max 95 rather than a general release. The secondary market did not agree with the premium. Checked on StockX in mid-September 2026, the trailing three-month average sat near $171, below the $190 retail, on several hundred sales, with the lowest ask down near $144. SNKRS reportedly cleared at launch, but general retail supply caught up quickly and the price came down with it. That is a shoe people were curious about rather than desperate for.
