adidas and Arte Antwerp add two colorways to the F50 Motion on September 24, a patent black and a metallic silver, and the silver is the one carrying the story. Its finish is lifted from the chrome interiors of Arte’s flagship stores, which makes this a rare case of a collaboration quoting the retailer’s architecture instead of its logo. Both pairs arrive exclusively through CONFIRMED and arte-antwerp.com.
The F50 is a football boot, and for a stretch it was the football boot. adidas built the line around speed, and the F50 Adizero it sent to the 2010 World Cup was marketed as the lightest boot ever made, with Lionel Messi as its face. The name went quiet in the mid-2010s as adidas reorganized its boot range around Predator and X, then came back in May 2024 as a full franchise relaunch. The F50 Motion is the lifestyle translation of that revival. It takes the boot’s low, wrapped shape and its tooling logic and sets them on a street sole, which is a much older adidas habit than it looks. The Samba was built for training on frozen pitches and the Copa Mundial was a boot, and both ended up as shoes people wear to work. What is different now is the speed of the handoff. The boot returned in 2024 and the lifestyle version is already several colorways deep, including the Y-3 F50+ Tunit.

These two are the second wave of the FW26 Arte collaboration. The first, crinkle nylon editions of the F50 Motion, landed in August, and adidas previewed these in Paris over the summer. The patent black pair is tonal almost to the point of disappearing, a wet-looking upper where the three stripes sit at the same value as the panels around them, so the shoe reads as a shape before it reads as an adidas product. The silver is the louder of the two, a brushed metallic finish across the whole upper with chrome detailing picked out at the eyestay and the heel. Both sit on the F50 Motion’s new tooling. Arte’s branding stays small and printed rather than set across the side, with the word ARTE at the heel and F50 along the panel, and that restraint is the point. Arte was introduced to the world through graphic design, so it knows exactly how much logo a shoe like this can carry before it stops being wearable.

The most revealing part of this release is the shoe nobody can buy. Alongside the lifestyle drop, adidas built an F50 Hyperfast Elite Arte cleat that mirrors the silver colorway in brushed-steel film over collegiate navy. Rayan Cherki wore it for Manchester City in the Champions League and the Premier League, and Nuno Mendes followed days later in a laceless version for PSG in Ligue 1. adidas has said plainly that it is a Friends and Family execution and will not be sold. So the pitch visibility that gives this collaboration its reach comes from a product that exists only to be seen, while the thing on sale is the street version. That is efficient marketing and it is worth naming, because the boot is doing the work the sneaker gets paid for. adidas has been testing how these drops reach people lately, including skipping the CONFIRMED draw entirely on the Tyrrell Winston TW Climacool. This one goes the other way and puts everything behind the app.

Retail is $180, and the useful comparison sits inside adidas’s own F50 lifestyle run. The SP5DER F50 Formotion asked $220 at the start of this month, so Arte’s pair comes in under the most recent collaborative F50 by a clear margin, which is not obvious given that patent and metallic finishes are expensive to execute without looking cheap. Measured against adidas’s terrace catalogue the number still reads high, because a Samba sets most people’s expectation for what an adidas lifestyle shoe should cost. The F50 Motion is not competing there. It is a limited collaboration on an app-only run, priced against Arte’s own retail positioning rather than against the silhouette’s history.
The adidas x Arte Antwerp F50 Motion releases September 24 in patent black and silver at $180, in sizes UK 4 to 12.5, exclusively through the CONFIRMED app and arte-antwerp.com. adidas has not published style codes alongside the announcement. The F50 Hyperfast Elite Arte cleat worn by Cherki and Mendes is a Friends and Family execution and will not reach retail.
